About the Colonia, Ladysmith Custom Build
Custom Home Build
My speculation homes sometimes sell before they’re complete; at least that’s the case when my mother sees them. The Colonia home was intended to be a speculation home; however, during the building process my mother viewed the home and decided she wanted the house for herself!
We paused the build in order to tailor it specifically to her needs and requirements. This is where the fun started. She met with the architect and changed the layout design of the house. I then changed the work order and got new permits for the build.
Colonia, Ladysmith B.C., Unique Home Features
The house has a beautiful custom made vertical grain Douglas fir front door that is 4 feet wide by 8 feet high with an Emtek grip set, multipoint hardware and stainless steel ball bearing hinges. Throughout the house there are beautiful painted maple cabinets with soft closed doors and quartz countertops. The house is equipped with an efficient heat pump heating/cooling system. Inside, you feel like you’re in the trees as the house backs onto the gorgeous Holland Creek trail. The house was built on a steep lot which made the build more challenging fun for me to do!
